Charity Commission to review more accounts

At last week’s Charity Commission public meeting in Bristol, its chief executive pledged that the regulator will significantly increase the number of charities whose accounts it reviews, and use this as a basis to target its enforcement work better. He also said that the proposed joint registration process between the Commission and HM Revenue and Customs, which would cover both charitable status and Gift Aid eligibility, would not be ready until at least next year.
