Consultation on NI charity reporting starts

The consultation on interim reporting proposals for Northern Ireland charities  opened on Monday (23rd September), and includes a number of events Рthe first on 4th October.

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland will introduce reporting requirements on a phased basis, with phase one seeing registered charities having to submit an annual return, including their annual accounts and reports in the format they currently prepare them. This is what the interim proposals cover. Phase two will follow later, when charities will be required to prepare their accounts and provide external scrutiny reports as laid out in the regulations, and there will be a further consultation on these next year.
