Web filters should not block advice and support

Websites from charities working in sensitive areas could be added to a “white list” to ensure that they aren’t blocked under the government’s recently proposed filtering system, as reported by Third Sector.

The Prime Minister is quoted as saying “I know there are lots of charities and other organisations that provide vital online advice and support that many young people depend on. And we need to make sure that the filters do not . . . restrict this helpful and often educational content. So I will be asking the UK Council for Child Internet Safety to set up a working group to ensure that this doesn’t happen . . ”
