Draft lobbying law could hit charity campaigning

NCVO and others have expressed concern at some of the measures contained in the Transparency of Lobbying Bill, which was introduced to Parliament before its summer recess.

According to NCVO’s article, this introduces a definition of “activities for election purposes” which is so broad and unclear that it could capture a range of the day-to-day activities charities carry out, entirely legitimately, as part of their campaigning and advocacy work.
