Link between volunteering and employment is “complicated”

A study by the Third Sector Research Centre finds that volunteering can have a positive effect on the likelihood of some people getting a job, but this varies according to who you are and how often you volunteer. Volunteering had the most positive effect on employment for those aged 45 to 60.
