Charity law for Jersey?

Jersey’s government is thinking about joining the ranks of those developing charity law, launching a consultation on 8th July on whether a charities law for Jersey is needed.

The island currently doesn’t have a charity register or regulator. Representative body Association of Jersey Charities has 290 members, according to Civil Society Media news item at http://www.civilsociety.co.uk/governance/news/content/15689/.

The consultation runs to 30th August, http://www.gov.je/Government/Consultations/Pages/CharitiesConsultation.aspx.
