Promoting social value in public procurement

Chris White, MP for Warwick and Leamington, has been made the first official Social Value Ambassador by the government. The MP will be working closely with local authorities and the voluntary sector to raise awareness of the Public Services (Social Value) Act, which he initiated. Announcement.

The legislation aims to encourage local authorities and other commissioners to procure services in such a way as to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area.
