Review of sector skills and leadership reports

The review of skills and leadership in the social sector (charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprises), set up six months ago by the Minister for Civil Society and led by Dame Mary Marsh, has come up with its findings. While there is a dedicated website at http://leadingsocial.org.uk, recommendations are scattered across an assortment of articles, so news items may be easier starting points.

Dame Mary Marsh writes in the Huffington Post, Civil Society Media overview at http://www.civilsociety.co.uk/governance/news/content/15168/ with a specific piece on creating a “data manifesto” at http://www.civilsociety.co.uk/it/news/content/15178/ while one comment points to Third Sector Internships Scotland as already providing paid internship opportunities for students at the Living Wage https://www.3rdsectorintern.com. The Guardian’s articles are on the Social Enterprise Network, including ‘Social sector must be seen as a serious career path, says government review’.
