Addressing lack of financial capability in small charities

Charity Finance Group and the Small Charities Coalition have produced a report into financial management in small charities. It takes a wide reaching look at financial management roles and practices in small charities, along with the challenges they face, and highlights key areas where additional support would be of most benefit.

They are keen to hear thoughts and views as to what they and other sector bodies could do to support small charities in improving their financial management, by 7th June.

Civil Society Media highlights that finance should not be the responsibility of one board member but should be embraced by all small charity trustees, but an unwillingness or inability to undergo financial training is an obstacle, http://www.civilsociety.co.uk/finance/news/content/15221/.
