Latest wellbeing measure puts UK second

A new measure of a country’s wellbeing places the UK in second place, behind Sweden.

The Social Progress Index covers 50 countries, and has been devised by Harvard Business School global competitiveness guru Michael Porter working with the Social Progress Imperative. While not the first attempt to track social dimensions rather than standard economic indicators such as Gross Domestic Product, the SPI claims to improve on earlier efforts.
