Online volunteering service seeks new owner

Online charity YouthNet has said it intends to handover its online volunteering service Do-it to a new owner by the end of the year. Interested groups will be invited to submit proposals via an open process to be led by YouthNet, in conjunction with the Office for Civil Society.

Making management accounts more accessible

The winner of the first Adrian Randall Prize, awarded by Charity Finance Group, is Hilary Seaward who wants to make management accounts more accessible to trustees from a non-finance background.

She says “I want to create a toolkit to help charities of whatever size take an imaginative approach to producing plain and simple management reports which all the trustees will understand because they will have been instrumental in designing them”.

Managing in the new normal

The results of the most recent ‘Managing in a Downturn’ series of surveys run by Charity Finance Group, the Institute of Fundraising and PwC have been published.

More than nine out of 10 charities said that they were experiencing a squeeze on fundraising while more than two-thirds saw increased demand for their services. Charities are making major changes as a result: for 63%, using reserves is on the table and a fifth of charities are considering merger, or had merged in the past year. » Continue reading news item ... “Managing in the new normal”
