Sector words get heated

As the focus at VolResource is on practical information, we don't generally cover policy controversies. However, an increase in strong words about government policies is clearly evident and may be of interest to readers.

  • The National Coalition for Independent Action has co-ordinated an open letter in response to a letter to the economic secretary to the Treasury from 14 prominent sector groups which appeared to support the government's approach to public services. They are inviting others to add their name to the letter.
  • SCVO has attracted criticism for the media release on its State of the Sector report titled "Criminal cuts from Westminster will devastate families and communities in Scotland".
  • Various organisations have reacted to the recent announcement by the Prime Minister that Equality Impact Assessments will be dropped, such as NAVCA.
