Need for easier access to offending data

New Philanthropy Capital is making the case that the government must unlock offending data, so that charities can access data on possible solutions to break the cycle of reoffending.

NCVO and Volunteering England merger in January

The merger between NCVO and Volunteering England has been finalised, with 1st January 2013 as the effective date.

Volunteering England’s 1,800 members will become NCVO members, while existing NCVO members will gain access to Volunteering England resources. In addition the threshold for NCVO’s free membership offer will go from an annual income ceiling of £10,000 to one of £30,000, matching VE’s existing arrangement.

Evaluating the Health Social Enterprise Investment Fund

Third Sector Research Centre has published the final evaluation report for the Social Enterprise Investment Fund launched by the Department of Health in 2007, finding that investment in social enterprise, although not meeting all its aims, helped to challenge health inequalities and tackle unmet need.
