Insights into resilience in Scottish charities

Scotland's charity regulator OSCR has published a short study of resilience in Scottish charities. The independent report provides analysis of OSCR data and insight into common factors which tend towards resilience, or otherwise, and identifies the critical importance of governance alongside financial considerations.

Little change in finance staff pay for 2009

The Charity Finance Directors' Group has published the results of its annual Salary and Employment Survey. This found that roughly one-fifth of respondents reported no pay rise in 2009, and the most common pay award was 1 per cent.

Pay uncertainty for youth workers and others in the sector

Trade unions for youth and community workers in the voluntary sector have indicated that they are to push for a substantial pay rise, reflecting a large shortage of workers. Online filing requirements for charity accounts outlined

How charity accounts data could be required to be filed online has been revealed by HM Revenue and Customs at a meeting organised by the Charity Finance Directors' Group. The iXBRL online filing requirement would only apply to incorporated charities.
