Aims
- To provide delegates with information on how to promote your service to stakeholders, using a variety of methods
- To give delegates ideas on how to raise the standing of your project within your local community using tangible results, case studies, and impact on the wider community
- To discuss and promote partnership working and how this approach will raise your profile
Audience
- Managers and co-ordinators of mentoring and befriending programmes
Learning outcomes
- To identify your projects aims, objectives and values and create an action plan on how you will market these to stakeholders
- To evaluate your project and identify areas where you need to raise your profile, incorporating this into your action plan
- To demonstrate a flair for writing passionately about your project, which will need to be adapted to the style of each stakeholder
- To increase referrals and sustainability of your project through positive and effective marketing
- To implement successful recruitment campaigns, to attract a variety of diverse volunteers and advocates for your project
Trainer biographer
- Vicky Corlett has worked at Bolton Lads and Girls Club for the past seven years. During this time Vicky has been responsible for the recruitment and training of volunteer mentors, and has developed the Clubs mentor training programme, which is currently being accredited by Bolton University. Vicky is currently seconded into a three-year project working in partnership with UK Youth.
