A few voluntary organisations using Drupal web software

The VoluntaryNews website has recently moved to using the Drupal open source content management system as the engine delivering the web pages, and collecting the material too. It seems to be a trend in the voluntary sector, and as our list over on CharityBlog of those organisations using Drupal is a bit dated, time for a new one!

No great point to the list, although it does give an idea of the different results and purposes that such a CMS can deliver. Basically a focus on those based in the UK, with just one or two international ones which are known/referred to in British third sector.

Drupal for NGOs - Drupal UK

And a new site of some importance, Jan 2010 - data.gov.uk, which has the job of unlocking government data for reuse - is on Drupal. Not a vol org but a good example anyway.

bassac (British Association of Settlements and Social Action Centres) uses Drupal 6 with CiviCRM.

And one from drupal.org

Just featured on drupal.org, which regularly highlights new Drupal-based sites of all types, is the National Theatre of Wales.

Drupal voluntary sector plus two

I haven't even included the two local 'campaign' sites I set up on Drupal before moving VoluntaryNews to the system:

Carno Station Action Group - campaigning for a railway station to be reinstated in the town

Transition Malvern Hills - the local transition initiative. The national network is also planning a move to Drupal to provide a resource for itself and other local groups.

Just spotted: GMCVO, Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation

forum4e

As well as forum4e, our main site at www.epilepsy.org.uk also uses Drupal.

Thanks,
Mark, Epilepsy Action

Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR)

...has recently moved to a Drupal-driven site too - http://www.ivar.org.uk/

Nick

PS: John, I wonder if there's any interest in a similar treatment of Joomla-driven sites?

The College of Teachers

We are also a fond user of Drupal at The College of Teachers: http://www.collegeofteachers.ac.uk.

We use Drupal and CiviCRM

We have been using Drupal since September 2006 and have gone through two upgrades!
Editor's note: that is www.voscur.org I think

Community Service Volunteers

We recently launched www.csv.org.uk on Drupal 6

A few more voluntary sector sites

Last time I looked, there were also:

  • Voluntary Action Hastings
  • Rother Valley Voluntary Action
  • Voluntary Action Leicestershire
  • Voluntary Action Coventry
  • illuminate ICT

One more..

www.onespace.org.uk now uses Drupal too.

LGBT Consortium

Anyone interested in a drupal support group?

Done all the work ourselves so far. We're looking for Drupal mentors to help us add functionality.
