Focus on social enterprise in Cardiff

This week saw the major social enterprise conference Voice10 in Cardiff. The top news item there was the launch of the Social Enterprise Mark, originally developed in south west England but now to be spread across Britain. More about the Mark at its website http://www.socialenterprisemark.org.uk - the hope is that the logo will become as well recognised as that for Fairtrade, indicating a genuine social enterprise in this case.

The Welsh Social Enterprise Coalition also launched at Voice10, which will consist of representatives from the sector in Wales. The Welsh Assembly Government is supporting it with start up funding for four years, official news item at http://new.wales.gov.uk/news/latest/100201wsec/?skip=1&lang=en.

There's been news/blog coverage of Voice10 in many places, including (Guardian) Society Daily http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/joepublic/2010/feb/03/society-daily-3-2-10, and Regeneration and Renewal (this item is about the role of housing associations) http://regenandrenewal.blogspot.com/2010/02/when-rsls-become-entrepreneurs.html.
