The Institute for Volunteering Research, NCVO and Involve are to work together on research into volunteering and civic action.
The Big Lottery Fund is giving three year funding to a project 'Pathways through participation: what creates and sustains active citizenship' which seeks to plug the gap in understanding about what makes people volunteer.
