Government funding changes from grants to contracts
The seventh edition of the 'UK Voluntary Sector Almanac', a comprehensive guide from NCVO to the financial state of the sector, has been published. While it shows that government funding to the voluntary sector has only increased by 1.5% since 2001, challenging recent reports that a dramatic increase is leading to a loss of independence, there has been a large switch from grants to contracts.
